This new single stands solitary as an offering to the Mother of the Night. The lyrics are a prayer or hymn of introspective nature reflected in the Orphic vein. We encounter symbolism of The Hanged Man and the essence of the Mandrake root. I use flowers as symbolic offerings similar to that of The Language of Flowers, a Victorian tradition. The man surrenders himself in attempt to gain enlightenment and the Mandrake is uprooted by the Divine Hand.

Before the Kypris starlight
Night Mother of gods and men
O blessed goddess of stillness slumber moonlit
I call to surrender Amaryllis before your children Mandrake
Upon the Ash I fall to you as the Hanged man
I come to you naked below an ark of bleeding doves
Nine times crucified in the heart of dawn
Three nails between life and death

All the blood I make is equal to blood I take
Entangled in the Silver Gate
Resides the Serpent of the Grave

Below my shallow I do reach
To Sacrifice Attis on the Pine
To receive Light in you
You give all, you take all

I sing of Thy Night
In heavens, upon Earth
Hear my cries, hear my roars
Rooted above a buried Sun
Strip me of this poisonous flesh
Strip me of this putrid soul
Strip me from the light of my Eye
Drag me through the deep, drowned yet undying
Never knowing Saffron’s curse, my great work is complete!

When the salted clouds have cleared
And blood has raked the air
The Mandrake will scream
Crucify me between pure being

Within a darkness is glowing under my skin
In serpentine dance surmounting to all horizons

A serpent above me, a serpent below me
I coil among them in the fluid of Thy womb
The essence of Fox Glove hallows through the blood of my heart
Against the current... Could this be the Heavens?!

O great mother Kypris
I've fallen from the Spring of Life
No grace, no glory...
Through fire I walk, through Baptism of Death
Let me rise from Thy gift of pain and silence

Like the enigmatic and deadly winter flower from which the project takes its name, Helleborus pushes the exploration of traditional black metal into the uncharted territory of sensual duality and mysticism.
